Well, after a much anticipated wait, Adobe has released Flash for Mobile with version 10.1 and from the reviews; so far it looks like the wait was for nothing. Maybe Steve Jobs was on to something when he decided to not allow Flash on Iphones.
The problem with websites that have Flash designed for a PC, is they will never fully be able to do what they were intended to do on a mobile phone because the mobile version of Flash is not technically able to handle it. Flash on a mobile phone is a huge battery drainer and in order to get it to run, they had to leave out a lot of the functions that actually go into making some the greatest looking features of Flash.
Most of the reviews from people using the 10.1 mobile flash version are not very good and because of the way flash works, I don’t think it will ever get to the point of being just like it is on a PC.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to create a mobile version of your site if you use Flash in your normal site especially if your navigation is Flash based like ours is on this site. Iphone users won’t see any of the Flash and those who do probably won’t be able to enjoy it any way. With a mobile friendly site version, you can strip out the Flash and present your mobile users with a good looking site that will get your message across to your visitors.
